Unit Manager - Halifax Hillerød

Come join us!
We are currently looking for a driven and energetic Unit Manager for Halifax Burgers in Hillerød. The restaurant is cozy and full of atmosphere, located right in the town square with a view of the lake, and seats up to 80 guests indoors.

We are looking for someone with experience from a similar position in the restaurant industry, who loves leading and developing people, and who does so by leading from the front and setting a strong example.

Expectations for You

As Unit Manager, you will set the direction for the entire team and ensure that operations, motivated employees, and happy guests come together seamlessly. You will work closely on a daily basis with the restaurant’s Head Chef. We expect you to take full ownership of your restaurant and make sure it lives up to Halifax’s high standards for product quality, service, and work environment.

Requirements

  • You must be able to build a team and work with goal setting, task prioritization, delegation, and follow-up.
  • You should be a strong leader for your middle managers, both front of house and in the kitchen.
  • You are responsible for scheduling shifts and ensuring alignment between budget, sales, and hours worked — while keeping the most important focus on sending guests out the door happy.
  • You should be comfortable conducting job interviews, well-being and performance development conversations, as well as ongoing discussions regarding sick leave and, if necessary, warnings or terminations.
  • You must love providing great service, as you will spend a large part of your time on the floor in a server’s role and naturally lead by example.
  • You must be ready to handle difficult conversations as a natural part of leadership. Your core belief should be that even though a conversation may be challenging, it is necessary for you and your team to succeed.

Personal Qualities We Value

You are often perceived as charismatic, hardworking, and with a natural sense of humor. You have deep insight and a genuine curiosity and interest in everything related to your area of responsibility — and you typically demonstrate an exceptional ability to help others succeed. You are not easily discouraged when plans suddenly change and your day turns out differently than expected. And you are a good listener. Empathy is one of your strengths; you can read both your employees and your guests, and quickly understand what it takes to turn a poor experience into a good one.

About Us

The Halifax story began in 2007, when friends Ulrich and Peter opened their first burger restaurant on Frederiksborggade in Copenhagen. In May 2025, Halifax became part of NoHo Partners. From the start, the concept has centered around great burgers made from quality ingredients in different variations — served in welcoming and informal surroundings. And that’s still the case today. No frills, but plenty of ambition!

As a workplace, we prioritize well-being, community, and fair working conditions. When you become part of Halifax Burgers’ skilled leadership team, you will experience a strong focus on both your professional and personal development.
